Toroa International House

Facilities at Toroa

Come on into our main common room and enjoy the big screen tv, watch sky digital or a movie from our DVD collection. Have a game of pool or foosball; borrow a book or magazine; network with friends online or just sit back and relax with a hot drink from the kitchen area.

If you enjoy music you can play (or listen to others play) in our music room. Sunday nights are a great night for a jam session, and you will often find residents upstairs in Manawa (our main building), sharing their music and talents with others.

Feel like going for a bike ride? Then why not borrow one of our community bikes – you can borrow a bike (and all the safety equipment) for up to 24 hours. Biking’s a great way to get around town or take in some of the Dunedin sights.

Need to finish an assignment? Our computer suite gives you access to the University network and is equipped with PCs, a Mac, a scanner and a printer. If you want to work in a more relaxed environment, you can bring your laptop down to Manawa or our tutorial room as both areas have free wireless access.

We use our outdoor courtyard for BBQs, get togethers and lazy afternoons in the sun. With a gazebo, sun umbrella and gas heaters available, residents enjoy using this space throughout the year.

Toroa’s two laundry rooms are open 24 hours and use of the washing machines and driers is free – we also have outside clotheslines so you can air dry your washing.

As well as our DVD collection and community bikes we have many games and various other equipment for you to borrow.
